Robert Alexander Scholarship
The Robert Alexander Scholarship Fund supports local healthcare professionals in Taney County. Established through the estate of Robert “Bob” Alexander—a lifelong Branson resident, pharmacist, veteran, and devoted community servant—this scholarship honors his enduring commitment to caring for others. This fund supports working healthcare professionals as they continue their education or receive assistance with educational debt, helping build a healthier community in honor of Bob’s more than 50 years of service.
Details of the Robert Alexander Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is designed for Cox Medical Center Branson employees who are furthering their education or seeking support through debt forgiveness. Skaggs Foundation will be awarding five (5) one-time scholarships of $5,000 to qualified applicants during the December 2026 Scholarship Reception.
Application Timeline
- Application opens: August 1, 2026
- Application closes: October 1, 2026
- Late submissions will not be accepted
Award Distribution
- Scholarship funds are distributed directly to the educational institution or loan servicing company.
- No funds are issued directly to recipients
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a resident of Taney county, with proof of residency.
- Be a Cox Medical Center Branson employee with no disciplinary action within the last 12 months.
- Be advancing to a higher degree or applying funds towards an eligible loan
forgiveness program. - Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, verified by the most recent transcript.
Essay Requirements
Applicants must submit a minimum 350-word essay addressing the following:

In your essay, please include:
- Your motivation for pursuing or advancing a career in healthcare.
- How the specific degree, program or loan forgiveness application represents meaningful next step in your career.
- Your commitment to Cox Medical Center Branson and to providing high-quality care in our community.
- Why you believe you are a strong candidate for the Robert Alexander Scholarship Fund.
Submission Guidelines
Due to the highly competitive nature of this scholarship fund all required items must be submitted at one time. Incomplete or separately submitted materials will not be considered and will result in disqualification.
